We started life selling seagrass matting in 1968. The Seagrass Trading
Company boasted a unique and unparalleled range of braided mattings made
from many different types of grass. By the early ‘70s, we had branched out
into floor coverings made from
coir fibre.
In 1976 we imported our first floor
coverings made from pure sisal fibre.
The wow product in that range was a rich and chunky weave in virgin pure
white sisal called Bardot because the
beautiful Brigitte had used it on her bedroom floor. Today's fashions
are more likely to call for
elegant greys.
The same weaver
continues to be our major European supplier today.
